About Ocean Reef Club — Hammock Course
The Hammock Course at Ocean Reef Club is exacting target golf set within one of America's most exclusive private communities in Key Largo - a layout that uses the tropical landscape of the Keys as its defining character. Ocean Reef Club has fewer than 2,000 member families, making access among the most restricted of any Florida private club. The Hammock Course is the more scenic of the club's two eighteens and a prestige anchor of the southernmost private golf market in the United States.
History

Von Hagge and Devlin designed the Hammock alongside the Dolphin in 1969, expanding the club from the nine-hole course it had opened with in the 1950s.
Design
Ocean Reef Club — Hammock Course — Design
The shorter and, by most accounts, the more beautiful of Ocean Reef's two von Hagge and Devlin courses from 1969. Part of the routing runs through genuine tropical hardwood hammock and mangrove, ground that supports rare and endangered plant species, which constrains the corridors and gives the course its character. Water is in play on fourteen of the eighteen holes, so concentration rather than length is what holds a round together.
