Larry Packard designed the South with his son Roger, opening in 1970 alongside the Island. It sits on the same rolling Palm Harbor terrain that gives all four Innisbrook courses their unusual movement.

Larry and Roger Packard's South course is the links-leaning member of the Innisbrook four. At just over 6,600 yards it does not beat you with length; it uses rolling ground, extensive fairway bunkering, waste areas, ten water hazards and the Gulf breeze instead. The result is a course where position and wind-reading decide the score rather than distance off the tee.
