About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club — Lagoon Course
The Lagoon Course is Ponte Vedra Inn & Club's second layout - a par-70 routing at 5,854 yards that uses the natural lagoon systems of the First Coast property to create a water-intensive challenge more accessible in length than the Ocean Course but equally demanding in accuracy. The course plays quickly and rewards resort guests who want a second loop after the Ocean without the same level of exertion.

Robert Trent Jones Sr. laid the Lagoon out in 1961 as the resort's second course, with later work by Joe Lee and Bobby Weed.
Design
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club — Lagoon Course — Design
The shorter and gentler of Ponte Vedra's two courses, and named for what defines it -- lagoons and lakes are in play on eleven of the eighteen holes. Length is not the defence: the fairways are narrow and undulating, the greens small and fast, and several sit elevated behind high-lipped bunkers. It is an open, palm-dotted setting where accurate driving and a thought-out approach beat power. Robert Trent Jones Sr. drew it in 1961, with later work by Joe Lee and Bobby Weed.
