The Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort is Jack Nicklaus's Atlantic-front statement in Palm Coast - a 7,361-yard design that reaches the ocean for a stretch of dune-flanked holes that ranks among the most visually dramatic in the state. The Nicklaus routing uses the natural Atlantic corridor to create a playing experience genuinely unlike anything else in the Space Coast or northeast Florida market, pairing panoramic ocean views with a championship challenge. History
Hammock Beach Resort — Ocean Course — History
The Ocean Course opened in 2007 at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, designed by Jack Nicklaus. Several holes run directly along the Atlantic, an unusual feature on a Florida coastline with little oceanfront golf, and they are the signature draw of the resort.

Jack Nicklaus routed the Ocean Course so that you hear the Atlantic long before you see it, and the terrain shifts as you go -- windswept dune through to wetland, with water and wildlife throughout. Nicklaus has said the coastal setting determined the character of the course rather than the other way round, and it plays that way: exposed, weather-dependent, and different on consecutive days. Five sets of tees over 7,176 yards, par 72. He returned in 2017 to rework it.
