About Tiburón Golf Club — Black Course
The Black Course at Tiburón is the Gold's companion on the Ritz-Carlton Naples campus - a Greg Norman design sharing the same stacked-sod, no-rough philosophy at a slightly shorter 7,005 yards. The Black offers a different strategic reading of the same landscape, with routing variations that produce meaningfully distinct playing experiences between the two courses. Ritz-Carlton conditioning and service apply equally to both.
History
Tiburón Golf Club — Black Course — History
The Black Course opened in 2001 as the second Greg Norman design at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, complementing the 1998 Gold Course. Part of the Ritz-Carlton golf resort, it offers the same coquina waste-area style and upscale experience as its better-known sibling.
Design
Tiburón Golf Club — Black Course — Design
Greg Norman's original Tiburon layout and the harder of the two. He mixed idioms deliberately: stacked sod-wall bunkers borrowed from links golf sit alongside coquina waste areas that are entirely Floridian, with tall pines and water recurring through the routing and several genuine forced carries. It closes on a dogleg-right par 5 with a lake running the full length of the right side and coquina waste on the approach.
