About PGA National Resort — The Palmer Course
Arnold Palmer's contribution to the PGA National portfolio is a par 72 layout at just under 7,000 yards - the second-longest course on the property and the one that most rewards Palmer's strategic design philosophy: reachable par 5s, risk-reward approach options, and a back nine that plays alongside a large lake with some of the most exposed holes on any PGA National course.
History
PGA National Resort — The Palmer Course — History
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay built the course in 1984, the year Palmer won the PGA Seniors Championship at PGA National. He had also finished third there in 1982 and fifth in 1988. Palmer returned to revise the course in 2006.

It is the most forgiving of PGA National's eighteens and deliberately so -- built around risk and reward rather than attrition, with a closing run that finishes on a reachable par 5 at the 18th.
