About Jacaranda Golf Club — East Course
Jacaranda's East Course is the tighter, more tree-lined companion to the West - par 72 at just under 6,900 yards, with narrower corridors and a design that rewards accuracy over power. It tends to play faster and attracts the same semi-private conditioning as the West, making the 36-hole package one of the best public-access golf values in Broward County.
History
Jacaranda Golf Club — East Course — History
Mark Mahannah laid the East out in 1970. Bobby Weed has returned to it twice, in 2006 and again recently, the latest work resurfacing the tees, fairways and rough in Bimini Bermuda and restoring the bunkers with white sand -- explicitly preserving Mahannah's routing rather than replacing it.
Design
Jacaranda Golf Club — East Course — Design
Mark Mahannah laid the East out in 1970 and Bobby Weed has twice been back to it, most recently in a renovation that resurfaced the tees, fairways and rough in Bimini Bermuda, restored the bunkers with white sand and returned the teeing grounds to their original shapes -- explicitly preserving Mahannah's routing rather than replacing it. It is the longer of Jacaranda's two courses, with undulating tree-lined fairways, raised and sloped greens, 80 bunkers and water on 15 holes. Several bunkers are cut into mounding with sod faces and high lips.
