History
Trump National Doral — Golden Palm — History
The course dates to the Doral resort's early years as the Gold Course, laid out in the Dick Wilson era. Gil Hanse's team rebuilt it during the resort-wide renovation, giving it design elements shared with the Blue Monster.
Design
Trump National Doral — Golden Palm — Design
The most traditionally Floridian of the Doral courses: narrow tree-lined fairways, subtly contoured greens rather than dramatic ones, and strategic bunkering throughout. Water is in play on 16 of the 18 holes, which is what makes it a placement course rather than a power one, and it finishes on an island green. Formerly known simply as the Gold Course.
