The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes is Greg Norman's Orlando signature - 7,122 yards of cypress-framed championship golf maintained to the conditioning standards of a Ritz-Carlton property. The course hosts the annual PNC Championship, where major champions compete alongside family members, lending visible tournament credibility to an already polished experience. Open to resort guests and outside visitors, making it the most accessible Ultra-Premium round in the Orlando corridor.
History
Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Grande Lakes — History
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes opened in 2003, designed by Greg Norman along the headwaters of Shingle Creek in Orlando. Part of the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott resort complex, it is known for its naturalist routing and its caddie program.
Design
Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Grande Lakes — Design
Greg Norman built this in 2003 along the headwaters of the Everglades, and the design brief was preservation rather than transformation: the existing ponds, wetlands and mature live oak, pine and palmetto were kept and built around, so the course reads as though it predates the resort. The work earned certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. For all that, it is player-friendly -- the fairways are wide and the trouble is where you can see it.
