History
Normandy Shores Golf Club — History
Flynn and Toomey laid the course out at the start of the 1940s on Normandy Isle. Mark Mahannah revised it in the 1950s, and Arthur Hills with Steve Forrest rebuilt it in 2008. It remains a City of Miami Beach facility.
Design
Normandy Shores Golf Club — Design
The original layout is the work of William S. Flynn and Howard Toomey, the partnership behind Shinnecock Hills and Cherry Hills, which makes this one of the more distinguished pedigrees in Miami municipal golf. Mark Mahannah revised it in the 1950s, and Arthur Hills with Steve Forrest rebuilt it in 2008. It sits on Normandy Isle with water surrounding the property, and is grassed in paspalum tee to green -- a salt-tolerant choice that suits an island site.
