About Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club
Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club is Ron Garl's ambitious 1987 design billed as the world's first tribute golf course - a layout that recreates famous holes from Augusta National, St. Andrews, Royal Troon, and other celebrated venues within a single 18-hole routing. The concept was novel at the time and the execution has made Golden Ocala one of the most talked-about golf experiences in central Florida. Now anchoring the World Equestrian Center complex, the club draws visitors from the equestrian and golf worlds simultaneously. Open to resort guests and outside visitors.

Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club opened in 1986 to a Ron Garl design widely regarded as the first replica course, with eight holes modeled on legendary originals at St. Andrews, Augusta National, Royal Troon and elsewhere. It anchors a gated club adjacent to the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.

Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club — Design
Ron Garl built Golden Ocala in the mid-1980s on rolling North Florida ground, oak-lined and closer to horse country than to the coastal courses most Florida golf is drawn from -- the club shares its grounds with a working equestrian centre. It is a 27-hole facility rather than a single eighteen, which means the round you play depends on which nines you draw.
