Old Corkscrew Golf Club is one of Southwest Florida's finest achievements: a Jack Nicklaus design that contains no housing whatsoever, routing 7,415 yards through cypress forest, pine, and protected wetland in Estero. The absence of residential development around the course produces a playing environment that feels genuinely natural - a rare thing in Southwest Florida's golf market. Nicklaus's challenge is real at full stretch: it consistently ranks among the best public courses in the state.

Design
Old Corkscrew Golf Club — Design
Jack Nicklaus carved this out of oak and pine forest and, unusually for Florida, built no houses around it -- the absence of real estate is part of the design, leaving a secluded course enclosed by dense tree cover. Nicklaus was present through construction and varied the holes deliberately in direction and feel. The greens are the defining feature: fast, heavily undulating, and set as much as twenty feet above rolling fairways, which makes club selection the whole game.
